but the -ldmy lib. is not in the vasp 4.lib. from where it is to be downloaded?

there is something called "vasp manual", you should read it first, everything is written there

compilation of VASP
If you haven't found the answer already, go to vasp4.lib directory and run make there before compiling vasp. Also consider using mkl libraries if you are using Intel's CPUs.
